Europe 2015

Greetings and welcome to The Traveling Huntley's travel blog for their 2015 trip to Europe.  This initial blog post is to give you an idea of our trip plans and to see if the blog still works....

Shirley and Roger will be heading off to Europe, leaving Sequim Washington on April 17, 2015.  The following day we will catch a flight from SeaTac to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where the next  day, we will board the Celebrity Cruise ship Silhouette.  Roger's daughter Kathleen will be joining us for the first part of the trip.

The trip will consist of a two week re-positioning cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Amsterdam, Netherlands.  There will be stops along the way at Lisbon, Portugal, Le Havre (Paris), France and Zeebrugge (Bruges), Belgium.  While I will attempt to provide a daily update of our activities I imagine the email service at sea will be very limited so do not be surprised to see several days worth at one time.

Upon our arrival in Amsterdam we will be staying in a local apartment in downtown Amsterdam for five days .  Unfortunately after three days Kathleen will have to leave us and head back home.  At the end of our stay in Amsterdam Shirl and I will board the Viking Cruise Line boat Mani and enjoy a seven day cruise on the Rhine River ending in Basel, Switzerland, where we will board a train and travel to Lucern, Switzerland.

After two days we will again take the train to the town of Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland, located in the heart of the Berner Oberland area of the Swiss Alps.  After enjoying the beautiful countryside for five days we again take the train to Zurich where we will wind down and enjoy the beauty of the lake area.

Three days later we fly out of Zurich and start the journey back towards Seattle but first enjoying a nice three day rest stop in Reykjavik, Iceland along the way.

I have included two pictures just to check on how the program aligns them and how long it takes to send the post to several people.
