Monday, May 11 we are arriving in Koblenz, Germany outside of Cologn where we toured the Marksburg Castle. Construction started on the castle about 700 years ago, after about 300 years it was stopped and then restarted 300 years later with the major construction being completed in the 1800's. It is hard to imagine how things can be worked on for so many generations.
Our ship the Eir with a sister ship Vee on the outside docked in Amsterdam. It is common to have multiple ships tied together and people just walk through one ship to get to the other or dock.
Herb garden on the top deck of the ship is used in the kitchen and for table decorations. Viking commissioned 12-14 identical new ships in January of this year.

| Happy cruiser enjoying our deck at night. |
| The rough steps common during these days. |
The castle we toured. On most of the tours we see only a small portion of the actual building. In most of them there is a custodial family maintain the facility.
On Tuesday, the 12th, we not only celebrate our monthly anniversary, but we will be touring the castle in Heidelberg, Germany.
Good Night all,
Shirl and Roger
